Nottingham Forest Supporters' Trust announces programme of supporter dialogue with Nottingham Forest Board of Directors

Following a meeting with the Nottingham Forest Board of Directors, Nottingham Forest Supporters’ Trust is pleased to announce a new programme of dialogue which will allow supporters to ask questions about the affairs of the club.

The Trust is an independent, democratic, non-profit organisation run by Nottingham Forest fans for Nottingham Forest fans. We exist to help fans to join together and strengthen their collective influence over the way the club is run, and to improve the links between their club and the community it serves. Ultimately, it’s about giving the most important group in any football community, the fans, a voice.

Over the last three years we have been proud to develop one of the most positive Trust-club relationships in English football, based around mutual respect across multiple levels of the club.

As part of our dialogue, it is important that the Trust asks key questions about the running of the club and provides insights to members, and to the wider supporter base. We do not have the remit, nor the desire, to represent all Forest fans. It is however the case that the nature of our established ongoing dialogue, as well as our democratic constitution, puts us in a unique position to put the questions fans want asking to the club’s Board. We therefore welcome contributions from all fans to this programme.

The club and the Trust agree on the importance of clarifying the club’s position on a wide range of issues that have been the subject of discussion in recent months. Therefore, the club has accepted the Trust’s offer to lead Q&A sessions, with written answers from the club’s board, at least twice a year. We will also explore how the member surveys we have run previously can be expanded to the wider fanbase.

It has been agreed that the first Q&A can take place as soon as possible so we now ask all of you, Trust members and fans alike, to let us know what you’d like asking.

The first Q&A – important information

  • On-the-pitch matters such as team selection, playing style, tactics etc. are not in the Trust’s remit, so we won’t be able to pose questions relating to issues such as why certain players aren’t getting picked or why we aren’t playing 4-4-2 at home
  • Any other relevant topics can be raised with the club, nothing (within reason) is off-limits to ask, but we have been made aware that for legal or confidentiality reasons, there will be some questions the club cannot answer
  • The questions to be posed will be selected In order of popularity amongst all the responses we receive. We will ensure that a wide variety of topics are covered
  • We expect to have a large number of questions sent in so we cannot promise to send all questions through to the club.
  • All supporters can ask questions by filling in the form below – you do not need to be a Trust member to submit a question. The deadline for submission of questions is 6pm on Friday 18th December
  • Written answers to the questions will be posted on the Trust’s website, sent via email to members and announced on social media in early 2021
