Conformance Status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, but we have identified these areas and are working to address them.

We have carried out a full internal audit across all sections of the site and applied fixes to known issues. A third-party audit is planned for the 2026/27 financial year.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, the following known limitations exist. We are committed to resolving these as soon as possible:

• Video captions — The membership video does not currently have closed captions. We are arranging for captions to be added and will update this statement when complete.
• Platform limitations — This website is built on GoHighLevel (GHL). Some platform-generated elements, such as form components and blog post widgets, may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We have applied all available overrides but cannot control all aspects of the platform's output.
• Third-party content — Content embedded from third-party platforms (such as social media feeds or external links) is outside our direct control and may not meet the same accessibility standards.

What We Have Done

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility across the site:

• Conducted a full internal audit against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria across all pages and components
• Ensured all text meets minimum contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
• Added visible focus indicators to all interactive elements for keyboard and switch device users
• Implemented prefers-reduced-motion support to pause animations for users with vestibular disorders
• Added descriptive aria-label attributes to all interactive elements
• Used semantic HTML elements throughout, including proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
• Provided screen-reader-accessible text alternatives for decorative and animated content
• Ensured the site is fully navigable by keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse

Technical Information

This website is built using GoHighLevel (GHL) and custom HTML/CSS. It has been tested using the following tools and assistive technologies:

• Manual keyboard navigation testing
• Colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA ratios (4.5:1 normal, 3:1 large text)
• Reduced motion testing via OS-level accessibility settings
• Screen reader testing with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)

We rely on the following technologies for conformance: HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA.

Enforcement Procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the 'accessibility regulations').

If you are not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

As a voluntary supporter organisation, the NFST is not a public sector body and is not legally bound by the Public Sector Accessibility Regulations. However, we have chosen to adopt WCAG 2.1 AA as our standard because we believe accessibility is the right thing to do for all our members and supporters.
